Business Type:

Indian restaurant

Ambience:

Modern decor, clean, comfortable, and with soft, non-intrusive music.

Goods:

All you would expect from an Indian restaurant, all the favourites, but with a modern take. Extensive choice for four courses. Some interesting changes from the usal, such as inclusion of a coconut dip with the poppadoms. Food arrived promptly, hot, and well-presented. All food was expertly cooked, not overdone, the different spices were easily detectable.

Customer service:

Very friendly service, happy to accommodate minor adjustments to food, attentive (but not overly so), very polite and keen to help. This restaurant has won an award for best newcomer (not sure of what) two years running.

What we had:

  • Vegetable kashmiri
  • Vegetable biriani
  • Peshwari naan
  • Poppadoms and sauces
  • Masala tea

How it could be better:

  • Could have more interesting dessert menu; a lot of effort and consideration has gone into the remainder of the menu, but many of the desserts are the ‘bought-in’ ones familiar to most Indian restaurants
  • Kashmiri could have contained more fruit, but otherwise excellent.
